Annapraasan Ceremony for Babies
अन्नप्राशन

The Rice Feeding Ceremony is a Nepalese celebration in which a child is first fed rice. Based on centuries-old tradition, this ceremony is held at five months for girls and six months for boys. (Modern science has also confirmed that a child’s digestive system is capable of processing solid food when they are approximately five to six months old.) An auspicious date and time for the ceremony is chosen by an astrologer, and traditional costumes are worn.
